  After doing some pretty extensive research on Houzz and Angie’s List, I found the Flooring Ninja. My husband called Roman and left a message, and he returned our call within minutes providing us with a rough estimate for the job. Within a few days, Roman came out and gave us an official estimate after seeing what the job entailed. Once I met Roman and spoke with him about our project, I knew that we were in good hands. We received the official estimate a day later. Like most people looking to do some home improvement work, we wanted to do our homework. While we did have other contractors bid out our job, we passed on them. Although Roman was not the cheapest, he also wasn’t the most expensive. As soon as I got to talk with Roman and hear him out, I just knew he was our guy! Our project with Roman included hardwood installation in our dining room, family room, living room and foyer. They removed carpet and tile. We also did new baseboard moulding on our entire first floor. Roman walked me through what the project would look like, how he would do it, and provided a finish day for when we could expect the project to be completed. Roman is a very smart man that thinks everything through very carefully and calculated. Roman and his team are extremely hardworking. If we saw them take breaks, it was maybe 10 minutes and then they were back to work for the rest of the day. Dedicated guys! When Roman and his team finish for the day, they left our house clean and tidy. We never walked into a mess. Roman and his team also arrive when they say they are going to, and often stay longer to get more work done. Roman and his team are incredibly kind. Roman truly cares about his work and making his clients happy. I think the hardest part of hardwood floor installation is picking a stain color. I can be indecisive, and Roman was extremely patient with me. He mixed more stain colors than I ever could have imagined and really helped me throughout the process. He didn’t get frustrated when I seemed to be all over the place with picking a color! He stayed at our house for few hours that night to make sure I was satisfied with a color. He let my husband and I take two days to decide on the color, and didn’t rush us at all. I absolutely LOVE the color we chose! My husband and I have NO complaints. We are 110% satisfied with Roman and his team. Roman and his team exceeded our expectations and left us with a beautiful home. Doing this type of work is an investment, and Roman is the guy to help you make this improvement! Roman does amazing work! He is a true craftsman! His precision and attention to detail are top notch. If you are contemplating at all, stop your researching, pick up the phone and call Roman. I sifted through so many contractors to find him. The leg work is done. Hire Roman! You will not regret it!   While searching for a flooring contractor on Houzz, Angie's List and Yelp websites, multiple positive reviews of The Flooring Ninja's work kept popping up, which convinced me to contact Roman for a quote. Roman responded promptly and I was very impressed with his professionalism. Roman was direct and patient while answering my many questions and concerns. His obvious knowledge and attention to detail was reassuring. I knew the minute we met Roman that he would be the right person to work in our home. We had originally planned to have prefinished hardwood flooring installed as opposed to unfinished flooring, in order to eliminate the mess of sanding and the odors of staining and sealing, as well as the disruption to our househ! old. We discussed the options with Roman and he explained every step of the process, which includes dust-free sanding (and it truly is!), odor-free stain, and most importantly, the quality of the end result. We put our trust in him and chose unfinished red oak flooring, to be stained and sealed. The flooring was installed in our living room, dining room and hall. 7 thresholds and 2 doorways were custom fitted to provide a smooth transition into each room. We ended up also having Roman install trim and baseboard throughout. Roman custom-mixed the perfect blend of stain for our flooring and it is beautiful. He created the exact shade I had in mind and I could not be happier. Roman and his crew were courteous, prompt, and respectful of our property. At the end of each day the work area was tidy and clean. My fears of a messy project were never realized, everything went smoothly. Roman is truly a craftsman! He was honest and open with us, and I will not hesitate to recommend him.

  When I called Roman for the first time, he asked many questions about the work that I needed completed and after viewing pictures he was able to give me an order of magnitude estimate. My home is about 60 miles away from his location so he wanted us to be on the same page before he physically came on site to refine his quote. Initially my work scope was to install new character grade hickory solid wood flooring on a staircase and the upstairs hallway to match existing flooring on the entire 1st floor. I could tell immediately that Roman is a thinker and takes his work very seriously. He refined his quote for the original scope and verbally gave me the cost & terms. We continued the conversation and I showed him some water damage to the 1st floor hickory in the kitchen. Since we had not moved into the house we ultimately decided to do the original scope plus refinish the entire 1st floor. Obviously the overall cost was more than I had planned because the scope was much bigger, but when I considered the benefit of doing it all at one time and doing it all correctly I felt like I had made the right decision – but it was still a huge commitment. There’s a lot of trust that you place in someone doing such highly visible and costly work on your house, but you get a sense of a person’s nature fairly quickly and I felt Roman would be very trustworthy. Roman adjusted his schedule and committed to an on-time completion. We had a three week window and he projected completion would be 3 days before move-in. Roman is not your typical contractor that has sales people and installation people. He does both. What this means is the owner of the business is personally on-site and is the lead person doing and directing the work. He and his small team commuted 60 miles each way 6 days a week working 12 – 14 hour days in order to fulfill his commitment to the completion date… and he hit it! We had painting, carpeting and Roman’s work all tightly choreographed to be move-in ready the day before the movers would come. This required all contractors to work together when schedules required adjustment. Roman hit key milestones along the way so the other contractors weren’t delayed. On the day my wife and I saw the finished product – we were amazed. Roman is a true craftsman. The repairs he made were invisible. He literally had to show me which boards were new and which boards were existing because I couldn’t tell. He created a fantastic angular pattern to complement the shape of the upstairs hallway which really amped up the complexity of his work but he wanted the challenge and he wanted to deliver something extraordinary. Initially he gave us some options with stain and sheen, but we took his recommendation of natural with a satin finish – I’m glad we did because it’s beautiful. My trust was well placed in Roman and he didn’t not disappoint. So the bottom line is this; if you want laminate or pre-engineered flooring installed sure Roman can do it but you are missing an opportunity to make a major improvement in your home. If you want a talented craftsman to really think through the best balance between cost and beauty – and then deliver it, then Roman is your man. I got other quotes. Roman wasn’t the cheapest but he wasn’t the most expensive either. My gut said he was the right guy – and he was!   Roman from The Flooring Ninja Inc. first came to our home to provide an estimate on an upstairs landing and stairs, but his company ended our projects by giving us a beautiful 3/4 of the first floor. Prior to his visit, we had three other companies in for a dining room estimate and had decided to just install tile. We had found FN when looking for the stairs specifically, so we were pleasantly surprised when he asked what we were doing with the dining room. He worked with us on preferences, our budget, a feasible timeline (we have 4 children ages 3 to 13), and all the while maintained a positive attitude. He provided proposals for four phases to restore or replace all the wood floors in our house. There was no pressure to do the additional phases at this time. His crew continued with the positive demeanor. We saw the phenomenal job they did on our stairs and decided to move forward with the dining room and refinishing the entire back of the house - phases 2 and 3. Everyone who visits our home LOVES the new flooring and comments on the beauty of the custom color. As for timeline, we proved to be a difficulty I am sure as we needed to be conscious of our children's schedules when planning the activities. Roman was very accommodating. Before they began, we requested a break in their work schedule of two days for our unrelated reasons. FN gave a fair estimate and did not waiver from it. Roman knew professionals who could also do some of the other work we were receiving bids on. His contacts submitted bids for the stair banister, painting, and tile work. We ended up picking his contacts over the other bidders. The various professionals worked well together coordinating schedules, having positive attitudes, and had similar work styles of quietness (as much as can be expected with flooring), cleanliness of worksite, and timeliness.   Roman came to do our estimate in December, and I knew from the moment I met him that he was the craftsman I wanted to work on our house. I felt confident enough with his bid and his expertise that I didn't solicit any others. Roman stayed in contact with us between the time of the estimate and the date work began. Once the job began, there were many ways he set himself apart from other contractors: - He suggested ways we could save ourselves money. - He always accommodated our schedule. We came and went as we pleased, and I felt perfectly comfortable leaving Roman and his guys alone in our home. - They cleaned up so well each night that our toddler daughter slept in her own room each night. - Most importantly, Roman didn't take shortcuts or treat us like this project wasn't important. Our job took longer than Roman initially anticipated because our subfloors needed repair. Instead of skipping steps to finish on time, Roman made the necessary repairs.   Roman the Flooring Ninja actually saved us money! We were trying to match existing hardwood to new hardwood and had hired a horrible floor contractor, well that was a mistake. We called several flooring companies to fix the problem and the only honest estimate we got was from Roman. He was the only one that told us he was confident he could match the new to old floors, save the wood and save us money! Everyone else told us to rip up the old floor and install new floor to match, which was a waste in material and money. Needless to say they were wrong and Roman was right. His knowledge and confidence gave us confidence and we couldn’t be happier we chose him. Our floors are beautiful now with a coffee brown stain that Roman suggested and they are just stunning.   I had The Flooring Ninja replace the flooring in my living room, kitchen, and hallway areas of my 2 br condo this Janruary. Roman responded to my initial emails for an estimate quickly, and was able to come out for an estimate within days. I received one other estimate, and both prices were comparable. He was able to begin work a week and a half after accepting his estimate Roman was able to help me pick out the best flooring for my current needs, and was even able to get a good deal for me! They were able to deliver the materials, and install for me within the next few weeks. There was communication every step of the way, which was important to me as I was at work most of the time and couldn't be home. Roman was also very sure to comply with my associations rules with construction. Roman and his team take great pride in their work and it shows! My floor looks great and I would recommend him to anyone looking to update their homes.

  After getting estimates from 8 different contractors, Roman @Flooring Ninja stood out miles above the rest. Most of the contractors either never contacted me back after the initial estimate or it would take 1-2 weeks for them to respond. Roman was very professional and prompt and took the time to answer all of my questions. Roman also responded to my multitudes of texts (there were over 250 of them) throughout the process and kept me up to date on the status as well. I live in a high-rise condominium and Roman was able to install solid 3/4" red oak floors (I am the first unit to have solid hardwood floors ^^). As per most condominiums, I had to install a soundproof underlayment and Roman even saved me money by picking up the underlayment (it was 1.5 hours away) for me. I can't rave enough about Roman's professionalism and service. My wife and I love our solid hardwood floors and we are extremely happy have gone with Roman @Flooring Ninja.

The company managed complications that arose by figuring out how to keep the the large kitchen island, with unique granite countertop in place, while removing some of the flooring underneath the dishwasher. By not rushing the job, they did it in a safe and efficient way. I trust Roman and his employees, all of whom were respectful and courteous.   My experience with The Flooring Ninja (Roman) was excellent. Roman's pricing was competitive and his workmanship exceeded my expectations. Roman accommodated all our requests. His crew, Victor and Igor, were meticulous, professional and polite. After a 12 hour day they would clean up their work area and arrive promptly the following morning. My wife and I have very high standards and over the years very few contractors have met them; however, The Flooring Ninja has exceeded them. There are a lot of flooring companies out there and trust me I met with many of them and they don't even come close to the knowledge that Roman has. All I have to say is if you don't use Roman you're missing out on a great contractor. This guy will make your home look awesome. Roman has a life long customer in me and I will pass his phone number on to all my family and friends. The people that are reading this are probably wondering why does this guy have such a strong opinion of the The Flooring Ninja. Well, here's a little back story ...my wife and I had been through hell and back about 4 months ago when we purchased floor from a company. We bought the floor and went through one of their installers, who arrived at the house 1 hour late and alone. He then proceeded to put the floors in crooked instead of straight. The installer never squared the room and I ended up kicking him out if my house. We later found that the hardwood we purchased was a product made overseas. Now without floors in our home we didn't know what to do, so we called every single flooring company in the northwest suburbs and city to give estimates and ideas. The one company that stood out was The Flooring Ninja. He suggested we return the wood we purchased and get American made Red Oak due to quality, durability, resale and aesthetics. We took his suggestion. All these other companies would have just installed what we purchased and moved to the next project. Not Roman, he treated us like family and wasn't afraid to give us his professional opinion. I know that sounds so cliché but once you meet him and see the work he does at your house, then you'll understand.

  It is now 16 months since we had our house ruined by the fire. The remodeling project is complete and we have a beautiful home. The oak floors and staircase throughout our home are beautiful which is evidenced by the many compliments my wife and I receive from our guests. We are extremely pleased with Roman Krayevskyy artisan like wood work and have recommended his services to friends and family, several of which have benefited from our recommendation. I feel that anyone who would hire this man for his services will benefit greatly from his care, craftsmanship, and work ethic. I believe him to be an honest and hardworking man, which are qualities I admire in any man especially one working in my home.

  This is to let you know that I have had Roman at my house to refinish my ?hardwood floors and to install new floors. The quality of both was excellent. My ?home is from around 1930, and he pulled up the carpet, repaired some of the old ?flooring, sanded and?re-varnished?the old floors. He also laid down new flooring ?on top of a cement slab for my family room. At all times his work is outstanding. ?His professionalism, courtesy, and expertise are tops.

I found myself incredibly fortunate to come across such talent, his work ethic and professionalism sets a new standard for the competition.?I could immediately tell by his attention to detail that he would certainly meet and exceed my expectations.
